NSW: Workers stage sit in to fight for jobs

SYDNEY, Jan 10 AAP - Forty cleaners barged into the foyer of a luxurious Blue Mountains
hotel today and staged a sit-in to protest against a decision to contract out their jobs.

The cleaners and union supporters decided to occupy the foyer of the Peppers Fairmont
resort when negotiations with management broke down just after 11am today.

Workers are angry that hotel management decided to outsource their jobs to US-based
cleaning franchise company Jani-King.

Staff want to remain employed directly by the hotel and say their hours will be cut
