When it comes to drinking, the legal limit is not the same as your own personal, safe limit.
So says the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States (DISCUS), the liquor industry's trade association.
In most states, the operator of a motor vehicle is presumed by law to be impaired when the percent of alcohol in his blood is above the 0.1 percent
level. But, says DISCUS, the level of alcohol impairment is based upon body weight and the number of drinks consumed over a certain period of time. The less you weigh, the faster your blood alcohol increases.
