Fed: Garrett has his hands full, Rudd says

KEVIN RUDD says federal Environment Minister PETER GARRETT has enough to do .. without
tackling parliamentary questions about climate change.

The federal opposition says it appears the PM has no confidence in Mr GARRETT .. after
it was revealed Treasurer WAYNE SWAN will handle questions about the portfolio in the
House of Representatives.

As a senator .. Climate Change and Water Minister PENNY WONG is not available to answer
questions in the lower house.

The prime minister says Mr SWAN will represent Senator WONG in the lower house because
of the portfolio's economic impact.

He also says a lot of the analysis of the impact of carbon targets on Australia will
be done by the Treasury.
